MCLAREN, S. E., K. M. FISHER, AND D. BRUCE HARRIS. FTIR MONITORING OF THE VENTILATION AIR OF CRITICAL BUILDINGS. Presented at AWMA 98th Annuarl Meeting, Minneapolis, MN, June 21 - 24, 2005.
Impact/Purpose:
A project has been to employ FTIR spectroscopy for monitoring the ventilation air of critical buildings. This paper provides status of the 3 tasks of this project. (1) A guidance document has been developed for homeland security planners and first responders that describes the availability and performance of existing FTIR systems that can be used for homeland security. (2) A commercial FTIR system will be configured, installed and demonstrated as an air inlet monitor for a large building system. (3) Then, a compact FTIR system mounted on a remotely piloted vehicle for building contamination investigations will be developed and demonstrated.
